Santiago Calatrava is going to be designing a super tall tower for Chicago, and the mockups look pretty freakin' terrific.



The Chicago Spire won't be finished until 2011. It will be 150 stories (!) making it the 2nd tallest building in the world. I mean I guess Chicago's pissed because Dubai pwned Sears Tower with that Burj thing. I mean really, Chicago. It's OK. Chill out.



Anyhoo, it looks cool. But since Calatrava is super super super de duper awesome (and one of my favorite architects), it's not all that surprising.
