Putting Solar Panels Where The Sun Don't Shine

The city of Glasgow is considering putting these lilypad-shaped solar panels in the River Clyde to harness solar energy.

Neat idea, but... um... have you ever BEEN to Glasgow? The sun basically never shines there. It's incredibly cold and dreary. I think they would be better off with windmills or something. Don't believe me? Check out their monthly averages and be sure to note the rainfall that occurs every single month of the year. A sunny place, it ain't. This picture is clearly photoshopped unless of course they just happened to take it on the one sunny day that month.

Seriously people. It's cold and gray there. All the time. Trust me on this one. 9 out of 10 Glaswegians will tell you the same thing, with pride.
