Tyvek Wallets- Hot or Not?

I need a new wallet. But do I want it made of Tyvek?

Maybe so... as the site claims,
"'stitching is always the first thing that rips in a wallet' well, not any more. this wallet is made from one single sheet of tyvek paper."

One single sheet! But... how? I do kinda love Tyvek (in fact, mah very own MailboxTees are mailed in Tyvek envelopes) but it does get slippery, and it is a bit thin. I wonder how well the thing would hold up in a purse or pocket.

Buy them in 2 styles- par avion or dot matrix- for $15 + $4 S&H from DesignBoom.

    Thanks for blogging the wallet.

I just wanted to explain how the wallet is so tough. The grade of tyvek I use is much thicker than the express mail envelope grade. I specifically designed it without stitching so that there were no 'parts' to be ripped or torn. Just think of the last time you tried to tear open an express mail envelope.

I have some convincing videos on YouTube where I try to destroy the wallets through the suggestion of YouTube viewers.

I know that they don't look that strong but that's whats so amazing about them. They are lightweight super thin but last a very long time (and are 100% recyclable).

Not only are they recyclable but they also have 25% post consumer content.

    Thanks again.

    Best wishes,

PS - We have a new non-slip coating coming out in one month.
