Harajuku Boys And Girls!

From the recent Japan excursion...

OK, so I had heard that Harajuku girls (and boys) dress crazily, but it's way beyond crazy. Like walking works of art. Totally beyond my expectations. Strangely, the atmosphere is overall so fashion-forward, so fashion-sideways, that these outfits almost... work? OK maybe not all of them.

This is a mere fraction of the hundreds of examples I saw of insanely creative, clever, costume-y, complicated, completely unique looks these young people bust out whenever they get the chance. And they are young- remarkably many in their tweens. It's incredibly hard to take photos because the area is teeming, undulating, vibrating, with thousands of people shopping, jostling, and socializing. But these photos should give you a sense of what spending a day in Harajuku is like. Enjoy!

not the only guy I saw in a granny shawl                   this guy has feathers in his hair, the girl, piles of roses

no words needed, just all amazing                                     working the white suit/pink hair non-ironically

ice cream sundae hoop skirt                                  didn't know there were that many different plaids

don't tell me, you lost your sheep?                              you can't grasp the massive amount of chains he's got on

all kinds of crizazy!

P.S. If you don't know what Harajuku is, this might help.
