Instructables has a cool project for those outdoor film festivals and concerts in the park- an LED-embedded picnic blanket.
The middle part is made of hard acrylic so it makes a practical serving surface, and the rest is vinyl so you don't get skeezy park juice on your butt.
Just follow these kind of tricky 10 steps to a brighter, more fun picnic. It will probably only take you like 3 weeks and $700. These Instructables projects tend to be a lot more involved than you first imagine.
